Astrocartography Software
The biggest astrocartography software suppliers are
(in order of popularity/capability) :
Solar Maps by Esoteric Technologies/Lehman
Assoc - $199.00 (full 3.0.7v)
The latest version is awesome. It is solely for (serious) astrocartography. The maps
(finally) have top-quality resolution and accuracy.
You can view a familiar A*C*G-style map of planet-axis conjunctions only, or add in lines for trines, squares,
sextiles, semi-squares, bi-quintiles, etc., up to 24 aspects. If you like planet midpoints, you can see
those lines as well, although only in combination with conjunctions. Viewing all 24 aspect lines and midpoint lines
would be confusing unless the map area is tiny.
Plus, you now can see all parans at once--not only individually as before. Lines for standard
planets, Uranian, key asteroids and more are infinitely selectable. You can zoom in on any area for
tight precision. Full interpretative reports, forecast-lines, world atlas, time zones, Local Space maps,
Geodetic, etc. are included.
You can see your critical Relocated Natal Chart, but not easily, like WinStar's very slick point-n-click RNC
auto-display feature.
Solar Fire by Astrolabe - $279.00 (full 5.1v)
This is an excellent general astrology program, not just for making maps. Yet, it offers good
traditional astrocartography capabilities, namely, A*C*G-style quality planet-axis conjunction maps.
You can also easily see your valuable Relocated Natal Chart (no misleading and annoying pop-up
"warning" screen like Solar Maps first displays). This version is almost rock-solid reliable,
but still has a few irritating problems--some of which you will discover if you even slightly misspell a city or
country.
Lines for standard planets, Uranian, key asteroids and more are infinitely selectable. You can zoom
in on any area for tight precision. Full interpretative reports, forecast-lines, world atlas, time
zones, Local Space maps, Geodetic, etc. are included.
Kepler by COSMIC PATTERNS - $300.00 (full 7.0v)
This is an excellent general astrology program, not just for making maps. The astrocartography maps
are high quality, even on zoom in. You get more astrocartography capabilities with Kepler than Solar
Fire, but less than Solar Maps. Smaller area maps permit you to see additional lines for trines, squares, sextiles,
etc. and midpoints as well.
Lines for standard planets, Uranian, key asteroids and more are infinitely selectable. You can zoom
in on any area for tight precision. Full interpretative reports, forecast-lines, world atlas, time
zones, Local Space maps, Geodetic, etc. are included.
WinStar Plus Pro by MATRIX SOFTWARE - $200.00 (full
2.05v)
This is an excellent general astrology program, not just for making maps. The astrocartography maps
look quite good, but not as nice as the programs above. While WinStar has very powerful astrology
features for charts, forecasts, comparison, etc., it lacks some of the astrocartography options the programs above
offer.
Its best feature is the very useful point-n-click auto-display of your RNC. On any map, if you click
your mouse, you instantly see your critical Relocated Natal Chart for that spot. Wow! If you are a
serious astrocartographer, this is simply invaluable. The Local Space maps (showing azimuth lines) are
also superior to any other program currently available.
Lines for standard planets, Uranian, key asteroids and more are infinitely selectable. You can zoom
in on any area for tight precision. Full interpretative reports, forecast-lines, world atlas, time
zones, Local Space maps, Geodetic, etc. are included.
Janus by Astrologyware - $~375.00 ($200 £ UK, full
3.0v)
This is an excellent general astrology program, not just for making maps. Yet, it offers good
traditional astrocartography capabilities, namely, A*C*G-style quality planet-axis conjunction maps. You
can also easily see your valuable Relocated Natal Chart (no misleading and annoying pop-up "warning"
screen like Solar Maps first displays).
Lines for standard planets, Uranian, key asteroids and more are infinitely selectable. You can zoom
in on any area for tight precision. Full interpretative reports, forecast-lines, world atlas, time
zones, Local Space maps, Geodetic, etc. are included.
Astrolog by Walter D. Pullen - FREE (full
5.41v)
This is excellent general astrology freeware, not just for making maps. It has limited
astrocartography ability, only showing an A*C*G-style world map of your planet-axis conjunctions and some Local
Space maps. However, its other capabilities for charts, forecasts, comparisons, etc. are quite
amazing. The price is hard to beat as well.
